Local 1-417 is based out of Kamloops, BC. Our Local Union represents over 1,400 members in many industries including: Sawmilling, Wood products manufacturing, Steel manufacturing, Recycling, Security, Trucking, Construction, Machining, and more.

Our Union, the USW, has helped working men and women win better wages, benefits, working conditions and workplace justice for more than 70 years. The USW is known for our work in the areas of health and safety, equality, human rights, global justice, environmental action, organizing and education.

Thanks to Unions like ours, Canadians have been able to bargain better wages, better medical, drug and dental coverage, life insurance and pensions. And all Canadians have benefited from the USW's work on the political front.
